If it's so damn important, do it yourself.

You must be awful fun at parties.

I'm just waiting for a hydropower engineer to open a large dam floodgate whilst standing underneath it.

Haha. Oh, THAT? You know, we were just working on an early version of Total Recall. In Rome. David Cronenberg and I.

Oh...sorry about that! We were in Rome working on an early version of "Total Recall."

I like how you saved the fact that David Cronenberg was with you until like five sentences in, like it was completely normal. Why was David Cronenberg with you? Did you run into David Cronenberg or did you already know David Cronenberg and you had this trip planned together? If it's the latter, next time you see him

this one is still in use today...

My reaction to the Judas Cradle.

This is just ridiculous. White people can't win when it comes to this kind of stuff, it seems. You put all black dancers in and it's objectifying black bodies. You put all white dancers in and it's erasing the cultural influences of black people. You put a mix of dancers of all races and ethnicities (like Taylor did

I think that's the joke.

But the second butt in the butt-bridge is clearly white so I don't know, it reads more like her making fun of different genres of dance. I think we might be grasping a little here.

I agree. I think that this doesn't bother me because it was included as a part of dance styles in general - she recognized that hip-hop is a legitimate dance style and gave it no more disdain than any of the other ones. And if the point was that she doesn't fit in there, then is she really appropriating?

No white dancers!

I'm all for pointing out cultural appropriation and calling out those who perpetrate it, but I fail to feel outrage over this video. I mean at least Taylor thinks that it's a dance equivalent to ballet and interpretive instead of going, "eww black girls shaking their asses, yuck". And if all the dancers were white,

How the devil did a Gawker article slip into here? Seriously, what does this have to do with science/sci-fi/fantasy?

Exactly. It means something different in Asia. Fine. OK. Then when people use it in Asia, I have no right to judge or complain. However, when they use it here, where it has a very different and VERY clear meaning? You're goddamn fucking right I'll complain. My great-grandmother and great aunt DIED for that symbol.

Are you in middle school? Every year one of my middle schoolers brings this up and we spend an intense class period looking at pictures of concentration camps and discussing the power of symbols and context. You are more then welcome to join my class next time we have this discussion since it seems as if you would

I'm really not interested in hearing about how intolerant we are for not tolerating someone else's intolerance.

Oh hey, speaking of which, here's a list of Things People Fear Most by Religion, which is totally scientific:

Let me get this straight... My guess based on following you on Twitter and reading your articles here are that you are grossly offended by intolerance.
