You don't have to replace anything. I run FreeCommander as a separate app and use it to do all of my file handling, but it doesn't keep me from using Windows Explorer if there's ever a reason to open it.

I'm a big fan of FreeCommander too. I've customized the crap out of it, and it's completely portable and runs out of Dropbox.

Kudos on the retort. That was funny.

Not by a long shot. The best way by far is buying an SSD no matter the OS (though Ubuntu + SSD is a speedy combination). The boot time of my Ubuntu VM in VirtualBox on an SSD is 7.5 seconds.

I can't? Try Webpay with $0 per transaction.

They didn't forget it, payitsquare is "Built on PayPal" and the organizer needs a paypal account.

Job fail when you're on a laptop with no wifi.

I already did, but thanks for the heads up.

@JasonJames122 Windows Live Sync is different than Live Mesh. It has no size limit because it's not storing the files in the cloud, only syncing them. I believe the limit is 20,000 files, and I'm at around 11K with 50GB of music.

I managed to snag a Spotify invite in 2008 and used a proxy in the UK to sign up. Even listening through the proxy it was a great user experience. However, after the newness wore off and I had messed with all the bells and whistles, I returned to Foobar2000 playing local files. I just haven't caught the online

Didn't install it thanks to tehciolo's trial run.

That's a great idea :)

In the end it comes down to trust. If you don't trust Dropbox, why do you trust the SecretSync folks? They can say what they want, and even have third parties verify what they're doing, but nothing's stopping them from lying or changing code after it's been vetted.

I found the same thing. I created Shortmarks as a result - it lets you use the same set of keywords and search engines from any browser.

Agreed. If you're interested in giving Shortmarks a try, it's intended to let you use the same set of keyword bookmarks / custom searches from any browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera and IE). I'd love to hear feedback (I'm the developer).

I had the same problem but I couldn't stand not using speedy Chrome, so I created Shortmarks, which lets you use the same keyword bookmarks from any browser without having to use XMarks or an extension. There are a few extra features too, like being able to use the same keyword for direct links and searches, and

Thank you Jonathan...

I had the same question. I use both Ing and Discover and the difference in interest is admittedly small, but every little bit helps.
