Okay I should explain it in this way...instead of using this to fully expose a consistent racial bias (which is present), it seems liked Ahmed/his family used this for their own self interest. What the school did to the kid was terrible, but the aftermath is what I’m focusing on here. That’s it.

Because Cuban was 100% on his side before talking to him and then said “ehhh something seems weird” after talking to him.

I’m not defending the police’s actions, exactly, in this scenario. They acted way over the top simply because he was a Muslim. But the fact is that the dad and thus by proxy him used this to their insane own advantage. I just can’t sympathize with them after accepting an offer from Qatar and gleefully taking pictures

He didn’t make a clock, he took one apart. It’s just that nothing felt natural about the aftermath and how it was handled. The kid went from some random science kid who did something millions upon millions of intelligent children in the country can do to meeting the goddamn President, getting scholarship offers up the

As much as I despise Texas and the school for the way they want about this, absolutely nothing here seems right from that family. For one, the clock was basically a nothing thing in the first place. Two, the kid has gotten an absolutely insane amount of attention out of it. Three, they moved to fucking Qatar. Four,

Oh hey, the worst movie nominated is probably going to win and the best part of the movie by far is going to lose while the meh part of it wins more.

To them:

I suppose I can see your point, but the only one I would even consider is Jason Mitchell. The other performances were nothing noteworthy at all, and Paul Giamatti is much stronger than all of them sans Mitchell.

Didn’t even think about that, shit. Mustang definitely deserved some praise too, so I’ll jump with you on blaming the Academy.

I wasn’t sure whether Girlhood counted as 2014 or 2015 to the Academy. It did deserve nods for best actress, supporting actress, foreign and maybe director though. Very good movie that is ridiculously underseen.

Plus for the Tangerine love. No reason it shouldn’t have gotten a supporting actress nod or something like that. I think the Netflix thing also definitely hurt Beasts. Traditional movie studio voters are stubborn assholes.

Straight Outta Compton wasn’t robbed of shit. The first half was good, the second half was a complete mess and they utterly ignored any involvement of women either good or bad

Is that H. Jon Benjamin and is this an elaborate joke

Ask Barry Zuckercorn

Don’t remind me that Trudeau isn’t running for leader here. And his handsomeness.

What kind of weak ass font is that?

I think Martin Freeman/Joanna Page’s story is cute enough, but yeah otherwise I can agree.

The Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln and Chiwetel Ejiofor story is still creepy as fuck and doesn’t work at all, and Firth’s story really just seems rushed/ridiculous. Bleh.
