It’s probably unfair of me, given most conventions are no less disease-ridden but gut reactions are gut reactions.

She’s specified and elaborated on one of the many possible causes alongside an effect. That implicitly gives more weight to that cause than others. The right does this all the time so they’d obviously be pretty wary of others doing the same regardless of intent.
