Not to get on a high horse but I was in grade school when I was taught enough basic science to understand you can’t recycle plastic. Something tells me I'm not alone in fundamentally assuming this was all a grift.

Its expensive, could easily have beem included in the base and (this is key) isn't very good. It's paying, the same damn year as release, extra cash for the "complete" game.
