I have both the Thermapen and the RT600C. I prefer the RT600C as it's smaller and easier to wield. I'm also a lefty and the Thermapen's LCD is on the wrong side for me. ;-) The RT600C I can just read upside down.
THIS. Everything you said. Be unfailingly polite. Most cruisers have audio and video now and if things were ever to go to court, your demeanor WILL have a bearing.
My local library has power monitors available for checkout, so that's an option to figure out your load. I used it on my machine (i5-3570k overclocked to 4.4GHz, Radeon HD 7950 overclocked) maxing out both the CPU and GPU and I don't think I even used 300 watts.
Might have to buy a spare for when my current Panny plasma dies!
