The hipster in me is disappointed you didn’t say “Wanted Man”

When does Billy make the transition to a thrash metal guy? He was listening to “Kill ‘Em All” at one point, which makes me think that he’ll probably morph into a Thrash metal guy who hates to even remember the lame hair metal he used to listen to.
You twisted freak.
And you do a great of watching the place while the Master’s away...
By the way, “Hardbodies” was on late night cable a few weeks ago and thinking about it, it WAS kind of eh.
Best sexploitation film (IMO) is probably “The Last American Virgin”. Great soundtrack and a gut punchy 70's style downer ending.
Eh, “Hardbodies” isn’t THAT bad. It’s your average early 80's sexploitation film with the added fun of creepy old guys.
It’s definitely a 70's film but not the same 70's style of Mean Streets, The King of Marvin Gardens and Taxi Driver I think was the point. Paul Schrader seemed to really dislike both Jaws and Star Wars as he saw them as the antithesis of the ‘revolution’ in film at the time.
But how will I know where the next scene is supposed to take place?
Same here.
“Heaven’s Gate” is a beautiful film that (to me) just needed some judicious editing or maybe a bit more of a re-write.
Oh, I agree Cimino and “Heaven’s Gate” was the final nail for them. But the blockbuster mentality comes from Jaws and Star Wars...as did the sequels. The other film that helped with that concept was “Sorcerer” by Friedkin which was way over budget and bombed. The studios went from a lot of small to mid sized pictures…
Lucas honestly disliked the studio system, especially considering what they did to THX-1138 and the derision Star Wars was shown initially. Plus he was in that generation of ‘rogue’ directors who were going to be different than the old studio system.
Me too, but maybe references that aren’t politically charged or based on Star Wars/Comics aren’t appreciated any more?
You take that damn trilby hat off right now young man!
That is an exceptionally cromulent post that truly embiggens us all...
You forgot to add the words ‘stale’ to that description...plus you can always venture out during business hours at the Met and get a dirty water dog.
It’s all the fault of that book “From the mixed up files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler”...
That’s fair enough Guv.
It was only fitting to match your shitty, exceedingly lame post. I mean, clearly you’re the next coming of Jesus and as ‘woke’ as Recognitions. The rest of us can’t match your level of pious self-congratulation.
