For anyone curious, here’s the LA Times article that explains briefly her reasons for waiting until now to file the suit. I hadn’t seen it mentioned in coverage elsewhere, so I searched for it and it mostly confirmed my guess that she felt incapable of bringing it up while he was working in the Los Angeles media

Right? And how many dudes trade their wives for newer models, injury, sickness, gravity or alopecia be damned. We are as cruel as nature, itself. Poetry is for the indestructible youth

That would be ideal, but she most likely she wasn’t capable of being in a relationship with somebody who’s just survived a traumatic injury. Unfortunately most relationships don’t survive those or end up completely dysfunctional.

He was awarded $27M for his troubles, has MBA and own show. Ten bucks says he let her go with his blessing, didn’t want to be an albatross. Pure speculation, but...

I have no reason to doubt her, but from the court’s perspective, it seems like this is going to come down to a he-said/she-said about a five-year-old incident that occurred behind closed doors.

Whenever a lawyer uses the word “baseless” to dispute an accusation, you know that shit is true. Baseless means unproven, not outright false, and it’s a cheesy lawyer’s trick to use that word. This fucking guy is toast.

“Now Billy, it’s really important you tell be what your mother’s first name was...”

I’d make that face to if some random dude came into my place and just started unbuttoning his shirt.

He was always in my mind for the book version of Stannis in GoT, though Stephen Dillane knocked it out of the park.

Mark Strong simply has that “look” that casting agents, directors and producers think about when they’re imagining a villain. “You know, someone who looks imposing but not too imposing, handsome but distinct, smart but not nerdy...like a Mark Strong type.” “Well, Mark Strong is available.” [long pause] “Yeah fuck it,

I always thought that them switching his name to the word that transforms him was a bad idea.

I think it’s more relief that ZackSnyder! isn’t finally either personally crapping all over 81 years of DC legacy, or pissing in somebody else’s attempts to respect it.

aka, ZackSnyder! Didn’t Get The Memo.

I’m not sure there’s any one scene that’s as good as Diana going for it in no-man’s-land, but the ending of Shazam! is better than every DCEU movie except maybe Aquaman, and there’s a difference in the scale of stakes there that makes it hard to compare. Much, much better than Suicide Squad, which solves everything by

I saw it today as well; while I liked how it handled both the ‘origin story’ and ‘hero has to understand his powers’ portion of the program, the hero has a genuine emotional growth arc. Billy’s search for family has some heartbreaking moments, and his decisions at the end are well done.

The world needs Tawky Tawny now more than ever.

Just saw it, it’s definitely #2 in the DCEU, might be #1.

I'm not sure if y'all are trolls/being ironic/know "jipped" is offensive/don't want to be told something is offensive and shouldn't say it or what, but I thought it was polite Internet etiquette/generally being a good person to NOT be ethnically degrading.

Ask a Roma person, they're likely to disagree with your assertion. It falls into the same category as Indian giving and niggardly. It's bad form.

Perhaps you're not aware of the origin of the word "jipped" - it's considered highly offensive.
