My honest opinion would be no they won’t take the other kids away, monitored by social services, likely..but removed from their custody? No.
People found gulity of death by criminal negligence here rarely see much jail time, 12-18 months would likely be on the high end.
They could be, the big question is whether they will be, and if so can the Crown make the charges stick.

Hardly, only that the Canadian justice system rarely if ever sentences these type of offenders for any significant jail time if at all. It’s certainly not the way it should be and I agree these idiots should have the book thrown at them, but they won't spend a day in jail, sad but true. At best they would be convicted…
