Yes, I thought that was the filmmakers handling Carrie Fischer’s death. She stayed behind to see her son and got killed somehow. But nope - she was on the Falcon a few minutes later. It was weird just how many opportunities to handle her death the script gave them but for some reason they refused to take any of them.
