the post details when it is/isn't appropriate to send back food or make special requests, and i responded with an anecdote of a time when i would have been in the right to send back my food but elected not to for fear of not receiving a replacement meal. please see my annotated bibliography for references.

Yes. 20% from what the check WOULD have been. Also, this is beside the point for this post.

Arrabiata means "angry," a synonym for spicy, in this context. What are you saying it means?

My husband is allergic to tree nuts (almonds, walnuts, pine nuts, etc.), but not allergic to peanuts, which are a legume. Often, he will ask a restaurant to not put tree nuts into his dish, but then he will order a dessert involving peanuts or peanut butter because he LOVES THEM.

I miss the days when people made these things and then they stayed on a VHS tape in a box in the attic until it was time to torture the children when they brought boy/girlfriends home.

He wears Exclusively Lacoste polos.

One further caveat. Can people who are not allergic or insensitive to gluten please stop requesting gluten free. I am tired as a server of trying to ascertain whether the minuscule amount of gluten contamination in a dish is a problem or whether you are just being picky because of some diet fad.

Really, you don't think that journalists (the people who were emailed) would be particularly sensitive about this>?

I got catcalled last year when I was with my husband, and it was the first time he'd ever seen any woman get catcalled. He was shocked. And then I was shocked that he was shocked.

Oh fuck off. A lot of people have gluten sensitivities, and even if someone does have Celiac, it's more likely that the server is going to understand "gluten allergy." You're busy, I'm busy and it doesn't help any of us if I'm required to explain my entire medical history to you justify why I'd prefer a gluten-free

In the Xmas Jammies video, the dad raps about his vasectomy.

But what if I have an allergy, and I didn't notice that the ingredient WAS listed on the menu, and then it came out and everything was fine other than the fact that it has this thing I'm allergic to and I just can't read? Can I send it back then?

If someone started clapping when I was walking by I would be afraid they were mentally ill and/or I'd start looking around to see if I accidentally stumbled into some street art performance.

The stairs video is great because the kids are the stars. It's sentimental because whether you have kids or not, a lot of us remember that feeling of coming downstairs or down the hall on Christmas day. If you do have kids, you realize how quickly that time goes by.

I think you're kind of missing the point..

I'm just so very glad that we are talking about this problem. That we are being vocal about how it's not right and that we should not have to put up with it.
I was walking home yesterday from the market and some asshole did the "You'd look prettier with a smile" thing to me and I told him he'd be prettier if he just

Can Jessica Williams just take over the world please? She is fantastic. I was cheering in my living room watching that.

There is no such thing as a good white rap parody video.

Took me several moments to remember that high school kids in NY often ride public busses to school. Before that I was all "WTF was Mark doing on a school bus? He's going to get arrested!!!"

What I don't get is why Kim chose Kris over Kanye (omg so many K's) at the time. Kanye has been a big star for a long time and you'd think Kim would've dropped Kris immediately. Something about their story isn't quite right.
