I live in a rural area with no official predators larger than coyotes. I’ve had neighbors with livestock as large as horses attacked by unknown predators at night. If you know you have coyotes, you may have something bigger.  And smart animals may make riskier choices if times are lean.

My company offers a Roth 401k, so is it really worth spending hundreds of hours comparing offerings of different IRA brokers just to see if I can beat my already low fee structure?  Also, I’m almost 15 years in the first job where I could reasonably contribute to a 401k, so I don’t have some orphan balance out there…

I’m not sure the reasoning behind it but YouTube kids keeps no history. That means for your more independent children you can’t go back and review what they have been watching and have more detailed discussions.

That is what my wife and I decided on.  I’d love to be at 6 months of expenses but at today’s interest rates having that liquid seems very wasteful.  That would be more than 1/4 of my retirement savings.
