The way they’ve handled the dragons has driven me fucking insane. I’m admittedly not the biggest GoT fan (I haven’t read the books, and I watch GoT because it’s the best fantasy show I’ve got right now), but holy hell has the writing been lazy bullshit in this regard.

I complained about the shitty Deus ex Machina stuff after the episode and a couple of my friends basically implied that I’m too much of a simpleton to “get it.”

There’s a good documentary by the BBC called ‘She-Wolves of England’ which explores how Queens get portrayed as unfeeling monsters for doing the same things as plenty of Kings did, just for being women: Lady Jane Grey, Mary I, Elizabeth I, Margaret of Anjou, Isabella of Angouleme, Empress Matilda and Queen Eleanor.

How

I have to agree if they wanted Daeny to be the next one to go mad then they should have started building that up back a few seasons ago. To have her character personality to do a whole 180 in three episodes is just jarring as hell and dose not make sense at all.

Thank you for this. The majority of my friends still seem to love every single episode and they make me feel like a stormy little raincloud of negativity when I point out all the things I hated about it. I’m having an impossible time feeling invested in just about any of the characters anymore because I don’t

The weirdest part about Rhaegal was that it wasn’t clear if he was dead or alive at the end of the previous episode... so they were like “oh, he somehow survived that shit last episode...” to just kill him in the dumbest way possible.

I miss Robb. At least he had actual battle plans.

I’ve read all the books (and don’t have much hope GRRM will ever finish) and watched the show. Up until now, I’ve been still (mostly) engaged, finding enough to entertain to make up for a lot of the meandering and odd writing. But the main, the only thing that really hooked me to books and show was the dragons. They

Nevermind that the range of a ballista isn’t all that far to begin with - 500 yards, and that’s against a stationary siege target. Direct fire (which it wasn’t used for) would only be ~200-250 at most.

When you advance toward the capital of your enemy who has the largest fleet in the known world, you fly low with no advance recon so as to be in range of the one thing that could harm you. God forbid you think outside the box and have your giant fucking dragon pick up a boulder and drop it from a large height to fuck

Jon and Dany are perhaps the two worst military tacticians I have ever witnessed in any publicly viewable media

It’s fitting that “The Door” was the last great GoT moment, since GRRM himself wrote the storyline and it was a moment ideal for telling in video.

Not to mention have her archers fire on Tyrion, who she hates and has tried to kill for half the damn series.

With how accurate the ballista apparently are (hitting a moving target from hundreds of yards away) there is no reason they didn’t just shoot Dany and end the war at the end of the episode. I doubt Cersei respects a ceasefire.

There’s a difference between ripping something apart because it doesn’t conform to one’s personal head canon.  It’s something different to rip something to shreds because all it’s become is stupid people, doing stupid things, for stupid reasons, and the interesting characters are the ones getting killed off as a

Many, many shows of stuck the landing; and arguably the 20+ film run of Marvel so far has been very similar to a TV show, and it stuck the landing with Endgame. There’s more Marvel to come, but they could easily call this the end of one series, and just like we’re getting GoT spinoffs, all future movies will be part

Agreed...the whole episode I was just screaming to myself about how stupid their tactics are.

THANK YOU. I’ve been reading all these reviews that skip over the outbreak of dumbscale across the entire northern alliance, so just reading this before I listen is comforting.

They ‘Lost’ it... see what i did there?

Last episode broke me. I’ve been a defender of the show for so long, standing up when people shat on the writing, finding excuses and justifications and a silver lining. But that last episode... It was so contrived; nobody did anything that made sense for their character, it was all just the hand of the writers moving
