Shit. Welp, there’s a giant non-refundable security deposit on my boat and helicopter rentals down the drain... I can’t imagine the buyers I lined up are going to be too happy either. Anyone got any advice for hiding from Kristen’s hitmen hitpeoeple while maintaining social distancing?

Yeah, Giurgiaro has gone off in an... interesting direction in the last few decades.

Hot Wheels lost the Ferrari license a few years back. It's Maisto or bust.

Awesome! Nice to find some age-appropriate content for my 5yo. I started him on late Amigos-era Top Gear, and he just found it too immature.

Now playing

Pfff. This isn’t even the least efficient / worst sounding / most dangerous audio solution I’ve come across this week.

I would have been much more receptive to this car if it had been posted on Wednesday.

Want to feel old? The Firestone recall was 19-20 years ago. There are probably kids who are driving around in their first car—a fourth-hand first generation Ford Explorer—who weren’t even conceived when the scandal broke.

Oof. That’s right. Thanks, totally misremembered.

The F1 taking 1-2-3 at Le Mans makes it far more impressive to me.

I’m going to miss your writing and hot takes so much. You wrote (or starred in) so many of my all-time favorite pieces on this site. Thank you so much Fancy Kristen, for the (correct!) take on not touching other people’s fucking cars, and, above all, for showing me that, not only am I not mentally defective for

I personally prefer Caribbean Aqua, but yeah, this blue is definitely beautiful.

(stupid kinja--this should have been a reply to another comment)

I disagree pretty strongly for the same reason that I’m loathe to buy screws and nuts from Amazon:

In lieu of a Microcenter, I’d recommend grabbing an Arduino starter kit. This is the one I bought way back when (and I’m sure you can get it from other sellers). That kit comes with a booklet explaining each component and a link to an online guide with example projects. The Arduino IDE also comes with example sketches

Not strictly on-topic, but if only Radio Shack had managed to stick around for a few more years / not been incompetently managed, it could have seen such a boon with the growth of the “maker” community. If they’d pivoted from selling overpriced headphone cables into supplying Arduino microcontrollers and 3D printer

Thanks! And for what it’s worth, I really enjoyed reading this article. I haven’t yet made it out to a Radwood, and so reading your writeup let me experience it vicariously for a few paragraphs.

A bit of context for folks who, like me, were very confused to see a post like this at a time like this:

So I’m... a rally-spec Lancia Appia with a 4x 13B engine swap
