Well, leaving aside the description of Man of Steel as “quite good” (LOL), the DCEU didn’t stumble because it introduced too many heroes. It stumbled because it was shit.

isn’t this how DCEU supposedly stumbled in the first place? To much too fast

His strategy makes sense considering I find it a bit shocking now if a superhero movie doesn’t include at least two heroes in it. And Gunn’s work tends to skew towards a group of people/heroes working (reluctantly or otherwise) together.

Free speech absolutist in the mouth of a conservative means exactly what it always has meant: "I will decide who is allowed to speak, and what they are allowed to say. And it ain't going to be kindness or tolerance."

Peter had better be back.

Or maybe the Thunderbolts movie which features several Black Widow characters & Yelena as the leader of the new team?

Too bad about Beetz, she stole the show in Deadpool 2.  Was in charge of every scene she was in.

I would've loved to have a Rocket & Groot movie AND Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Anything that gives us more James Gunn Guardians movies would be a good thing.

“I haven’t had an approved comment in 8 years” is a weird thing to say when:

Speaking of Kinja, Lifehacker’s new home will also mean a shift to a new platform

I used to be a fan of Lifehacker. I still am, but used to, too. I hope Beth sticks around for her other articles.

The execs at this point were all dudes in their 70's so their nostalgia was pretty much for characters who were big during the Great Depression. So they signed up a bunch of pulp characters who predated the first big superhero comics boom, and so we ended up with the freaking Phantom movie and its legendary tagline:

I just love how Hollywood film rights squatting can produce these absurd little nuggets like this and the Corman FF movie.

No one particularly cared about the character when the movie came out over 30 years ago. I can’t see how that’s changed at all.

Did you feel this way about Andrew Garfield when he got screwed because Sony/MCU’s deal means they had to start fresh?

Why can’t they fold Matt Reeves’ Batman into the DCU?? There’s nothing in that movie to suggest it isn’t part of a bigger universe. This is just stupid.

“an upcoming game where you traverse a sewer system in pursuit of a treasure box key that a monkey shat out of his ass.”

Yeah, what’s honestly shocking is how they didn’t seem to expect this backlash?
