You have made my point - don’t be so cavalier about other peoples’ tax money. Paris isn’t Disney World. Their infrastructure is just as important as your city’s.

I understand your point, but it’s just in really bad taste to leave any evidence of your passing when you’re hiking or camping or otherwise enjoying the outdoors. If people want to carve their initials or leave locks or other graffiti on a tree, they need to do so on their own property. That’s the considerate way.
