fast = a typo of “vast” (golly these sort of mistakes undercut one’s point)

It really is a stunning looking game - and it’s actually well optimized on PC (it only took them the last three major games in the series). It’s a shame the combat system is just as boring as it ever was. If anything needs a revamp in that series, it’s that.

Hot Take: I had more fun with Fallout 4 than any AAA release in recent memory, despite its clear shortcomings.

That’s a bit harsh, no? But then I guess we all have our biases. For example, I’d say that Ursula K. Le Guin’s sci-fi is far more interesting and well written than the fast majority of navel-gazing bollocks that’s published in The New Yorker, or the pulp that routinely tops the bestseller list.

Straight up this. One of my friends in the lit scene - though passionate about the issues at the center of this discussion, and active in promoting diversity - once mentioned he worried that his stories that were bought were bought only because the characters had Indian names, like him. Pushing for diversity is great,

Truly heartbreaking.

Accurate. Season One was excellent, if fairly lampooned for its content.

Anyone > Trump

Gotcha - thanks for the clarification!

Yeah I got a really nice computer through them in 2012, and I’m still using most of the components, just swapping out stuff when I need to.

Ha - interesting. There’s still a lot about eSports I don’t know.

iBuyPower? Like the guys who made my computer? Is it like a Nascar style sponsorship (now tarnished, clearly), or just a super weird coincidence?

Interesting!

If you can truly play a F2P game free, that’s the way to go. I just have a bit of a weakness for gambling, which is where I really run into trouble in those sort of games.

I was fishing for a Planet of the Apes joke somewhere in there, but I don’t think it happened.

Not according to Hollywood!

It always amazes me how such a shitty looking game can have the budget to buy ads in the biggest arenas (Superbowl, Star Wars, etc).

Yeahhhh. I had no idea Jotun was out, and I remember thinking that looked awesome. I spent quite a while browsing the Steam store for hidden indie gems, too. Totally would have nabbed it. Alas!

I was more-or-less happy with my choice (the Institute, because familial plot spoilers). Railroad was a close second. The fucked up thing about the factions is how they make you murder at least two other factions. I felt bad about that.

Shit, I thought he was like 40.
