I live in a college town and this is a huge issue. The Ivy League students walk in front of cars all the time. The city even installed 2 new lights, and yet they still will walk out when the light is green for the cars. (It's called jaywalking kids!)

I only added the disclaimer because people on Slate always jumped on me whenever I suggested that dogs deserve kind and compassionate treatment.

I'm so jealous! It's going to stay in the 80's all through next week here in the Northeast. I suppose it's better than the 90+ degree weather we had last summer though.

Forgive me if this has already been asked already, but does that mean that "The Bishop of Dibley" will start filming soon?

It is now legal in RI for the cops to break open the windows of cars with dogs left in them. I assume that's the same for kids, at least I REALLY hope it is.

Good explanation. Also, what you described are actual "service dogs" which are different from "therapy animals" or "emotional support animals". Those animals are needed by the individual with a disability, but not necessarily whenever they are outside of the home. The ADA does not cover them, but housing law does,

Your actions are not only immoral, but illegal in some states. It is very harmful to those who rely on service animals to fraudulently pass your dog off as a service dog. Actions like yours are the reason people are suspect.

I found a great dress there this fall. It's a simple but extremely flattering style for my curvy figure (I actually look better in it than the model. lol) and most off the rack clothes make me look dumpy. I bought 2 because they're also MACHINE WASHABLE! So yes, my love is unironic, as is my confidence in the

I live near the area, so I will definitely be buying one. Only question is, which one of my lucky friends will be the recipient?

Not Hindu, but I've been to a Hindu wedding, so as I watched I knew the symbolism of his carrying his step-daughter. So sweet and a wonderful way to say, "I'm marrying your mother and making you my daughter through this gesture.". Made me tear up too!

As someone who is a lawyer and only 4 ft 8, I understand her suggestions. I put on subtle make-up when I have an important meeting or have to go to court. I do what I can to look a little older and more like I made some effort.

Silly article that is reporting on a trend that started a decade ago. I actually cook for my dog because of tummy issues, but I've also been scared by all the pet food recalls. We both eat chicken that I like to buy at a local poultry farm. They are not organic, but it's local and the chickens are much better off

Thanks you for telling us about this. I'm going to email the name to my good friends, whose wedding I was honored to attend two years ago yesterday. I cried more than I had at any other wedding. How anyone could deny the legitimacy of love between two people just because they are the same gender is incomprehensible

There are two collections of her thrillers, which my local library fortunately has. They are excellent! No damsels in distress either. There are some bad-ass women.

I have terrible Crohn's and I suggest a sitz bath. It's a plastic bowl thing that turns your toilet into a bidet. It's much more soothing when you're flaring too.

Wow- I would be the perfect girl for this guy. I have a good career, am not overweight, have 20-20 vision and no piercings or tattoos. I even wear knee-length skirts and boots from autumn through spring (but not in a slutty way, in a cute-but-conservative way). I think I will stick with the non-loser I've been

Actually, it sounds like they made them a little less boxy than a boy's T, but not fully form fitting like most of the girlie t's out there. They said their goal was something in between.

He is adorable, as are the other two, but especially him. He is so cute and coy in this pic!

I would not have survived the Hells of law school and trying-to-find-a-nice-guy-for-a-relationship-in-superficial-NYC had it not been for running consistently throughout. Whether I was angry, sad or happy, running made me feel good and good about myself. I was very proud of the mileage I was able to eventually put

Hooray for the religious left! I grew up in a Christian religion (Quaker) that performs same sex marriages. I am very annoyed when people use religion to oppose equal marriage. Their claim that it infringes on their religious freedom is completely false: none of the laws force a religious institution to perform
