It just amazes me that you can’t even look at a number and then when you mess up, blame someone else.

Clear wrap should be used way more often than it is. I would assume it isn't because dealerships charge a ridiculous amount for it.

I had heart palpitations when I saw this in the BAT daily e-mail this morning...then wept softly into my coffee when I realized I have no money.

I can’t answer your question but I do know they’ve been saying “keep them on the line” for years before these things (and cell phones) existed.

The ownership and management of the track is kind of a mess right now. They don’t have the big events anymore to bring in money for improvements because they were losing money on those events. There have been several discussions about the management and promotion of the track, but residents of the area are pretty much Read more

I have NEVER had a plug fail on me. I don’t trust my life to them, but I’ve had them last years until I need new tires anyways. I’ve even successfully repaired sidewall punctures (on commercial lawn equipment, Walkers if anyone cares) with them that lasted the month or so until we could get new tires.

You are really wrong on a lot of this. At least, you are painting it in the wrong light. SCRAMP has been operating Laguna Seca for 58 years. Since day one. They are not the problem. The county board of supervisors is the problem. They are the ones that instituted the noise limits. They are the ones that refuse to Read more

I talked to one of the guys working T8 after the races today (I was at T11 and also flag chief for the event). He said Beretta had absolutely no business trying to pass O’Connell there.

Beretta hit O’Connell at the top of the Corkscrew, not the bottom. Both cars sideways, partially on the track, below any oncoming driver’s line of sight. It was a terrifying moment. I was standing in the right place, right time at Laguna Seca today.

I had been watching the race at the corkscrew for 20 minutes then decided to walk to turn 10 for the race ending. Just as I started walking I heard the commotion behind me and totally missed them going off! I couldn’t believe it! This pic is O’Connell on the last lap before he went off.

O’Connell also flat out said that Beretta had the much faster car, and had he (Beretta) been patient, he would have edged out O’Connell by the end of the race.

I hope Tony Stewart still has trouble falling asleep over this, waiting for his eventual comeuppance. He knows exactly what he did, and he definitely saw Ward prior to hitting him. Whether he intended to hit or just scare him is the only debate.

I know it’s trendy to dislike him, but how can anyone? He’s the best kind of car collector and is not a total fucking snob. Read more
