Your opinion is certainly well-considered and thoughtful.  But perhaps you are mistaking "This is not how I would have done it" or "This was not what I expected from this film" for "This is not good"?

I think Hudsucker Proxy is fantabulous, but I can understand why people don't like it.  I didn't care for A Serious Man or Burn After Reading (though I think that has one great scene), and I'm about to give another chance to Intolerable Cruelty based on the "hey, it's underrated" rep.

I like The Money Pit. That is my response to that statement.
