Some excellent points. I’m just sick of seeing these kind of closures after the massive injection of cash these companies got not so long ago. 

Yeah, there is definitely an effect of the higher price of steel and aluminum (a few hundred dollars per car, from what I had read), but I don’t want these auto companies off the hook for what is ultimately their decision. They had their asses dragged out of the fire by the federal government less than a decade ago,…

To be fair to Trump, this is on GM. We can blame him for lying about the corporate tax cuts saving jobs, we can blame him for tearing holes in the safety net that the laid off workers are going to need soon, but he didn’t close the plant.

The logical part of my brain knows that she deserves everything coming to her, but when she’s getting shit from even worse people (Johnson, Gove, and now Trump) I just naturally feel a reflex to feel sympathy...
