Do you think the work the people in the picture above do is not hard?

I’m a programs and process analyst for Tyler Technologies. I also design educational and training programs for Tyler.

I decided a long time ago (while working two jobs, one on a cattle ranch and one in the oil fields) that being on my feet all day and carrying heavy things wasn’t something I wanted to do with my life.

Yeah, work is hard.

You’re doing really good here, by the way. You are holding it together better than most. Usually by now people just call me a troll and get belligerent. This is good discussion and it is developing into a nice Socratic examination.

“...labour being valued properly.”

Who determines what is “proper”?

The value of anything is only so much as what somebody is willing to pay for it. It does not matter what the holder of the object says it is worth (whether it be gold, a house, the work performed, whatever).

There’s to much breading on the Popeye’s chicken sandwich. I like eating chicken with breading only there to hold additional seasonings on. If I wanted all that flour then I would just ask them to fry chickenless batter and give it to me.

Or these drivers can just not work for these companies and start their own taxi service, charging as much as they think they are worth.

Yeah, but, still, uh....you should live your life by my assumptions, because...uh, I am incapable of complex thought, critical analysis, and have a significant lack of object permanence.

Start your own business.

No.

God forbid they have to figure something out themselves.
