They could price the series S at $50 and I still wouldn’t buy one as it doesn’t do anything my PC doesn’t. Sony still has the advantage in exclusives and there’s no indication that’s going to change.

It’s a different animal, though. The Series S is deliberately marketed as a less-powerful, budget version of the Series X. The PS5 DE isn’t - it’s just as powerful as the regular PS5, but you’re locked into using the PS Store to buy all of your games.

Man I can’t wait for all the confusion this holiday season when parents mistake the Xbox Series X with Series S. They virtually sound the same, but the series S is a budget Xbox x 1.5 lol. I don’t know who is running their marketing/naming team over there.

Agreed, I fell off the wagon last year, tried to start playing at the newest expansion, and had absolutely no idea what to do. I think the refresh might actually get me back in to it, as unfortunate as it is to see so much content disappear.
