For touring, shaft drive is preferrable over chain due to it’s less fussy maintenance requirements. But I wouldn’t daily or tour on this. It’s over 35 years old! Some parts for this are likely unobtainable by now. For the collector that wants a factory turbo bike, this might be okay, but there’s some work to be done…
I saw a few of these EVs last weekend on Jeju Island, where there is big support from the local government for EVs, with lots of charging stations scattered around the island. Since the island is only 45 miles x 19 miles, it’s the perfect place for an EV as you’re not likely to ever drive over 100 miles in a day.
