Take away electronics like cell phones, video games, the the tv remote. Far too many kids are completely plugged into the digital world and cannot/won't express themselves in person. I know several parents who have allowed way too much time with this type of stuff and they can't understand why their kids don't

Silly question I guess - no mention in the article of streaming Amazon videos? Also, I assume zero incentives for Prime members? For $100 would pass on this even though I have Prime.

Besides maybe Zach Galifianakis making a tape with Lena Dunham, I can't think of two people I wouldn't want to see a tape of - let alone this movie. When Cameron makes that fishy face its terrifying.

#1 is so true. My brother had his wedding last year - he is a great artist and carpenter (you can see where this is going). He tried to create and build a lot of the parts of the ceremony, but in the end he ran out of time (and sleep) - most of it ended up being tossed out at the zero hour - resulting in loss of time

I see this constantly where I live in PA - people that drive those kinds of trucks just have a habit of tailgating until you move (in either lane). Yesterday I exited the PA turnpike (above speed limit) and a guy in a similar truck whipped around me, startled the person in front of him who hit the brakes, and just

woops - I stand corrected - guess I'm a grandfather - damn I feel old now...

Be cautious with HP laptops. I inherited 2 from friends and after I tried to remove some HP softwares (which I assumed were bloat) I ran into all kinds of system issues/lockups. Windows restore helped out to fix it, but sometimes best to leave them.

Can you stream directly from this service? Have had issues with that on GD.

very cool - I'll check it out - thanks!

Be productive by planning time to rest and relax - it's important to your health. So many people try to fill every waking moment with "productivity". The 2 things that are huge after work hours are rest and (conversely) exercise. I think I could be a lot more productive on the latter with my new running partner:

I'm not a gamer, but using the OUYA as an HTPC for my office sounds good - anyone have good experiences with that - the Amazon reviews are all over the place.

I uploaded an mp4 video files that I wanted to share with a friend who is traveling. Sending a link to it was Ok, but I cannot play it without downloading it directly - you can't stream video directly from Google Drive? Lame - plus now I seriously doubt my friend will be able to view it.

I'm intrigued by 2 things from this list - CFL bulbs and the low flow "bottle in the toilet" method.

I think this is a good example where art may be getting in the way of some very impressive mechanical/robotic advances. The shock value of certain aspects of the piece overwhelms the overall execution and (IMO) the appreciation is diminished by it.

Are we really shocked at this? It's still "reality" TV - hence it isn't real and is produced entertainment. American idol has long be exposed that it is totally fixed - why not this show.

Was using Crashplan for the last 2 years (free version backing up to other PC on my network). No complaints until...recently for some unknown reason, all of my backups failed to connect to each other over my network. I hadn't installed anything new and haven't found a solution or workaround. Very odd - anyone else

Sharlto Copley as the king has me worried - he was terrible in his last 2 films (Old Boy and Elisium)...fingers crossed. No worries about Angelina and the effects - maybe that's all this needs.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly people can dole out cash to people they don't even know (like this case) or people who they know after like 1 or 2 dates (or even emails/phone calls). I have seen it go both ways (men and women being duped) - there must be some psychological reasoning besides being lonely.

20/20 or Dateline did a story about this a while ago - they removed one spark plug and brought cars into various shops. Not one found the easy problem - all of them worked up crazy estimates for engine work.

TaxAct user for the last 5 years - never had an issue with it. Prior to that I had used tax "professionals" and had issues - sometimes had to re-file due to missing/wrong info. In the end, using tax software was cheaper and easier with zero issues and electronic tax files a login away.
