I’d keep it on for protection as long as possible - but once it starts to peel or crease in the middle (which happened to me) I’d remove it.

Mine also lasted 10 months, and I simply peeled it off.  Not sure about all this “a experienced technician needs to remove it” nonsense that is all about.
