Let me take the opportunity to say

Gritty Reboot of National Treasure. I really enjoy the originals as good light hearted fun romp with little bit of history thrown in. Plus I thought it was really well cast. One of the roles Cage really fits well in. Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha were the perfect sidekicks.

Harry Potter is a very competently made series though you won't call them classics. Agree that you need some mad take on it to make it remarkable. Maybe really merge the Muggle and Wizard world and bring totally new but very interesting muggle characters that are involved in the whole story.

I found the book bit of a chore to get through. I thought movies did a good job of condensing the narrative well.
