Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you did - I think the way you described it is perfectly reasonable. It just set off a memory of mine of that situation taken to the extreme, where naivety had turned into willful ignorance.

I grew up in the whitest of middle class suburbia and I remember a girl in my sophomore English who, while during our discussion of To Kill a Mockingbird, proclaimed that "racism didn't exist anymore". Even as a 15 yo in 99, I still knew that was an outrageous conceit.

That was sarcasm. And not even about the quality of the games themselves, just the dumb names.
