Quit digging yourself deeper. He was already a household name in the 80s, and he got regular airplay on MTV and the radio.  Heck, even my parents knew him as that guy who did “that funny Eat It song”.

Yes, I actually remember that feeling.  Figment didn’t exist in the Disney ecosystem outside of Epcot, and the only way any other kids would know about him is if they also visited Disney World.

And don’t forget that... whatever it was, high tech playground, maybe that they had upstairs. Most of that tech would be outdated today, but in the early 80s it was amazing.

And the Imagination pavilion was by far the best part of the original park, for kids at least.  It’s sad how much it has declined.

Probably the ones with all the singing and dancing.

I’ve only seen one episode so far, and it gave me a very Nordic noir feeling. So, considering that two of my favorite shows in the last 15 years were the original Danish versions of The Killing and The Bridge, that’s a good thing.

Certain people just have a way of talking that makes everything funny, intentional or not.

I wouldn’t put Wawa on a pedestal for the quality of their hoagies, though.  They’re decent, but convenience is their main selling point.  How does Jersey Mike’s compare to a hoagie from a good deli or pizza shop?

For some reason, they assigned this book to us in 8th grade, so yes, I did read it. I remember the rough beats of the story, but not too many details. I’ve seen the English language movie from the 30s too.

I’m looking forward to seeing this. Germany makes particularly good films about their own rather complicated history, especially the last century, but most never get released in an easily viewable format outside of western European television.
