My concern is that in this rush to the Twitter exit, we’re giving away our data to the other bad guy, and someday our AI likeness will end up as an NPC in the metaverse, and Zuckerberg will own all the rights to it.

I like the pixel remakes, but I would spend money again if they do some 3D versions in the style of Link’s Awakening remake.
Fans are still experiencing Parasite Eve PSP shooter PTSD.
To me, the golden era of Battlefield was Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 and 4, with 3 being the canonical top title. I think some readers gravitate around the same games too.
To me Final Fantasy is about putting together a band of misfits (including a character named Cid) to battle some god at the end. Managing their inventories, skills, and optimizing the battle strategies must be part of the mix.
This game is missing that important ingredient. Again, I think the misguided decision of…
I wouldn’t say Europe was “attacked” but the continent was indeed the world’s melting pot in Medieval times (and the Black Death was a consequence of it, enhanced by the lack of urban higiene of the period). Europe, specially Medieval Europe, was never ethnically nor racially monolithic. The Jews moved into the…
I was thinking that while this game made very good improvements in its combat system, and the cinematic battles, it seems that it still lags behind of what people expect in a modern RPG. Branching stories and romanceable NPCs have been a staple of RPGs for decades, but you only get in this game what’s scripted. That…
There’s no revisionism here, Europe has never been as racially monolithic as it’s represented in this game, specially in medieval times, when the Moors occupied a big chunk of Southern Europe, the Golden Horde a big chunk of the East, that’s not even counting groups like the Roma, who can be traced all the way back to…
Producer Naoki Yoshida told IGN in November 2022 that the design concept always focused on the “historical, cultural, political, and anthropological standards” of medieval Europe.
Knowing how Atlus operates, I’d say wait for late 2025.
I agree with you, but I do remember that type of imagery was considered edgy and cool in the times of Tower Records and iPods, and even if it was only a plot device, making it the routine way to evoke your powers went a bit too far. Imagine if in Persona 5 every time you call for a skill they rip their faces off with…
Something that for me didn’t age well was that whole “shooting yourself in the head to ‘call your persona’”, aughty-edgy thing, specially since someone close to me committed suicide. It makes the game quite uncomfortable for me to play, and thankfully, the later games in the series did away with that crap.
How fun it is to watch a man who has no better idea than dumping obscene amounts of money to make his PC game launcher somewhat competitive lecture us about meritocracies.
The Dems think we’re going to have a functional democracy that far ahead? We’re already barely in one. We are practically ruled by Trump judges now.
I haven’t watched the film yet, but I’d like them to reference how Mario ended up as the referee in Mike Tyson’s Punchout, and his passion for golf.
It’s interesting to note that Mario was not always a plumber. As seen in this game and in the earlier Donkey Kong games, he was originally a carpenter. He was first cast as a plumber in Mario Bros. (1983).
I wouldn’t put Destiny on this list, because it seems that on every update, they take a step back for each step forward.
In it’s place, I’d put Battlefield 4.
One of the reasons Florida isn’t in my shortlist of travel destinations is because I don’t want to hear about this guy, and I don’t want to be in a land where this guy got re-elected in an apparent landslide.
I worry that the Steam Deck is already meeting its limits, I heard that Returnal runs like ass on it, and I haven’t even bothered to look how The Last of Us does.
RE2, RE3 remakes and VII had well-paced enemies throughout, instead of hordes of vicious enemies jumping you from all sides, I think Village would be the best benchmark to compare with the Steam Deck, and Village drops in performance in the parts where a bunch of enemies are circling you.
