The ‘college basketball is better’ crowd are the worst people on the planet. They’re the people that grimace when Trump does something abhorrent but still vote straight ticket Republican because ‘taxes tho’.

Fans are always going to root for their school and make excuses for any and all nefarious behavior, all the while excoriating their rival schools if a coach even so much as pays for a turkey sandwich for a recruit. Casual fans couldn’t give a fuck either way, and will tune in for a few games while doing some good…

At first I was appalled at the tendency of MLS teams to ape European naming conventions (DC United, Real Salt Lake, etc.), then I was amused, and now I fervently pray that the expansion club run by Precourt will be called “PSV Austin”.

The St. Louis MLS stadium thing is back on, and they’re asking for no public money this time other than the land (honestly, not worth too too much, believe me) and some state incentives. The city voters were right to tell them to fuck off the first time when they asked for $60 mil.
