Germany didn’t have to back it up with coal and therefore increased emissions. They ran coal hard because they shut off 8/17 reactors immediately. They didn’t switch from nuclear to wind, they switched from nuclear to coal. They are switching to renewable now and in the future but that wasn’t what happened.

That isn’t true in any real sense. You are either ignorant or outright lying.

But again you are making ridiculous comparisons. Solar is small and flexible, there is no benefit from going big so of course you are going to have bigger nuclear plants. Nuclear is certainly not cost competitive in Canada and I see no evidence that there is any market demand to build more nuclear.
