What year did you win nationals? My cheer team won in 2010 and 2011 in the intermediate division and have been striving for that advanced win for the last few years. Hopefully this year will be it for them. One thing’s for sure: the Riverdale cheerleaders aren’t to Orlando or Anaheim any time soon.
When I tell people I’m a cheer coach they suddenly nod really slowly and start over-enunciating every word like I’m an idiot. I can have told them ten minutes prior about my advanced degrees and non-profit work, and they’re still like, “THAT’S AWESOME FOR YOU SO IS TMZ YOUR FAVORITE WEBSITE?”
That’s also an issue. If you’re in public school, you have to reuse the same uniforms every year. So the coaches had better be sure the ones they’re buying aren’t hyper trendy, lest they look outdated in three years. These uniforms, however, just look old.
It’s like the one thing that it’s still okay to be judgmental about. The girls I coach get so much hate from their own classmates even though they’re the best athletic team that school has to offer. And I tell them: get used to it. People hang onto that negative stereotype like it’s coded into their (ignorant) DNA.
As I mentioned above, I’m really over the “I’M SO PRETTY AND COMPLICATED” genre. It’s very transparent and I feel like all the bombastic stories are just covering up for the fact that she’s not very smart or likable or interesting at her core.
I’m really not into the “LOOK AT ME I’M SO BEAUTIFUL AND COMPLICATED” genre. Get over it, honeybun. After the drugs ravage your face and body and the boys stop paying attention, you’ll have nothing to offer the world except stories about what at terrible person you were/are.
Yep. They enroll in a super liberal college and then go out of their way to point out how everyone but them is terrible and out of touch.

They want an outlet for all “views.” Although the College Republicans or whoever the hell they are could’ve found a much more intelligent, worthwhile Republican to represent them if that was their goal. I always felt bad for the color guard. They were the girls who got cut from cheerleading at my school. And their coach didn’t know what the hell they were supposed to be: Flag girls? Baton twirlers? Drill team? Mid-century jazz troupe? Why not all four???! The way Family Guy portrayed them was accurate.
