Route 66 was never intended to inspire. It was just another connection on this new system of highway routes in 1926. In fact, it wasn’t even going to be called 66.

I live in Chicago and to make the trip ultra-nostalgic, I think I’ll take my ‘66 Charger, which has no AC and a 3 speed trans. It gets 8 MPG. Assuming I’ll turn around and go home before I get to Missouri. Actually, I’ll get towed home before I get out of Cook county...........So nostalgic.
