Finally some good conversation in this thread. @WV Cycling hope you can get into one someday, there are a lot of good bmws that fall into the $3-6k range. E30 325’s and e36 325/m3’s.

They aren’t really all that hard to find, 4 available in Seattle right now, 2 in Portland, 1 in San Francisco, 4 in Denver, the list goes on... They usually carry a slight premium over a 325i, but a small price to pay if you really want AWD. I was considering one, and even looked at one, but ended up with an e30 M3.

Can’t you disable the rev-match feature by putting it in sport+? Is it intolerable to drive around town when in sport+? When you roll the windows down is the sound noticeably worse than hearing the “fake” sound piped through the speakers?

Generally speaking, Cows, like most animals, are afraid of humans. Through domestication many cows in farms have become very tame. Some of which become tame enough to be considered pets. I grew up on a farm with ~40 head, we had several cows that would let you touch them, and some that were tame enough you could get

+1000 This is all I could think every time I saw a story.

Certainly, or 233k :)

BMW 2002. I recently drove a '74 ~150 miles and now see why everyone loves them. Just so simple and raw. The guy I bought my e30 M3 from sold it to me because he wanted to get a 2002tii, and now that I have driven a standard 2002 I know why he did.

And just like high schools tend to teach kids everything they need to know to do well on their GED's, now driving schools will teach kids ways to drive to minimize their insurance cost with this device, whether or not it makes them a good driver.

Yes, the M235i uses the N55 3.0L 6-cylinder turbo, with a bit of tuning to produce more power over a standard 335i or 435i. I see Tom has updated the article to say you can't get a 2-series with manual and AWD, which is true. But then again I am not sure why you would want to add 100-150lbs of AWD gear to a car that

Not true, both the 335i X-drive and 435i x-drive can come with a manual!

It would seem the new taillight design improves the width of the boot opening, so perhaps it would fit now!

That has got to make one hell of a nice daily driver. And/or track toy. I wonder if the LSD from the M235i fits in here.

It wasn't announced at NAIAS in Detroit, it is hot off the press from ze germans.

But wouldn't driving it (almost guaranteed to run at higher RPM's than idle) make bigger (warmer) explosions and make the oil and coolant warm up that much faster? You say that by putting load on the engine while cold "things could get damaged", what things are these? The engine is already running with almost no

I wouldn't think gas prices would have a huge impact on electric cars. The Model S for example is far more expensive than a diesel golf in their respective usable life times. People buy the Model S because it is a great car, not to save money.

What do you mean now? The phrase "Classic RWD balance" suggests people have been loving RWD cars at least since Classic Car Handling era.

I vote a 930 Turbo, I would say a 964, but I think those are running quite a bit above the price range. Even a 930 Turbo you will have to look around a bit to find one in your price range. You will have to do some rally spec conversions to prep it for winter :-)
