If you’d listened to oral arguments this wasn’t a surprising outcome.  Kav was furious and Alito was clearly exasperated.

The overwhelming sentiment here is that he was convicted of a class X felony, and that will follow him forever.  However, he’s incarcerated in Otisville (the post NY federal prison that Michael Cohen is in) and that bothers me more in a way.  Special rules for special people and all that.

I didn’t think teens did any of this anymore.  I thought they just played with their phones and watched netflix.

She was in solitary because they insist on putting transwomen who haven’t had gender confirmation surgery in male jails, and then then have to segregate them because they get raped if they don’t (google Strawberry Hampton).  Great system we have, n’cest pas?

It makes me think of that of that Chris Rock routine - “I take care of my kids!  Well, what do you want, a fucking cookie for doing what you’re supposed to do?”

Especially because he’s well known to be one of the absolute nicest, most genuine people in the business.

I feel like the kiss on the cheek hello is very standard in business if you’ve meet more than a couple of times.

He probably knew better than anyone else in that room what the outcome of a guilty verdict would be for that kid.  I wish more people had his guts.

I’d love to know the jury breakdown. Like was it even, or was there one MAGA idiot holding out for conviction, or one liberal holding out for acquittal against 11 MAGA idiots. It’s Arizona so ymmv.
