Judith Reagan’s protestations about today’s climate in journalism and social media is hypocritical enough to make one laugh in her face - should the current climate be a laughing matter.

That, and a (un)healthy dollop of hubris.

Your last two sentences are - quite literally - perfect. They illustrate how the woefully out-of-touch remain just that: out of touch, and how the price for that out-of-touchness is at an all-time high. 

Why not both ?

I find it downright comical that you think that, that sad denizen of the darkness that penned that comment is flexible enough to self fellate.
