I tried for days using different programs (free ones), and in the end the simple solution was to use another OS. I downloaded Ubuntu, booted it from a disc, and got it done…

Nope. It’s not actually emulated, it’s an xbox one digital version that gets downloaded from the the store. Nothing is installed from the disc, it is only used to authenticate, and will need to stay in the drive while you play.
