They could, but it would go into limp mode 2 laps in....they would probably make Honda F1 engines look reliable

It would probably save Bianchi (though that’s the purpose of VSC and the extreme frequency of safety cars) but it wouldn’t have done anything for any other accident in the last 25 years.....The cars already have roll over protection, and Senna was killed by a suspension piece, Massa was hit by a suspension piece, the…
Get your tin foil hats out people. The government is using pennies to steal your DNA....
What is the frequency of injuries or accidents that have been cause by large debris? MAYBE this would have saved Bianchi, but so would the new VSC. Massa was hit by a bit of suspension that this likely wouldn’t have stopped. Oh and the greatest driver of all time, Ayrton Senna? Yeah he’d probably still have died. This…
Yeah I’m white, but my best friend is black, and she loves Europe, and has never had a single bad experience there....thus why she goes over every chance she gets. Granted she is staying in big cities like London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, etc....so I can’t comment on the backwoods of Europe....
That was not general racism, just islamophobia. Which, lets be honest, while not endorsable, but still excusable, based on the sheer number of ISIS/ISIL related attacks in the last few years.
I’m with Hamilton on this option.....it looks awful. Also this will do literally nothing to prevent smaller debris from hitting the driver. This will basically only stop a tire or some other large object.
A closed cockpit would be awful in a rollover wreck.
The US is far from the highest standard in equality. Most of Europe is very well integrated, as are our overly apologetic neighbors to the north. But we are definitely in the top 10%.
No way. Mercedes has seen how Lewis and Vettel get along. And he’s already been through a nightmare 3 years with Nico and Lewis. They have great team chemistry now, and Bottas will probably never get upset with Lewis. If they replace Bottas it will be with someone with an equally good personality. There aren’t a lot…
It seems they have fallen off on pace after all the teams were reminded they couldn’t burn oil with their gas.....doesn’t seem like a coincidence. As to the tire failures I assume it was something in the setup of ferrari’s car since it happened to the same tire on both cars at basically the exact same time.
I don’t think you understand. You can buy the regular GT3 with a stick now. Just not the RS. BUT the RS is 100% all about lap times which makes the PDK the transmission of choice. If you honestly don’t care about shavng the last few tenths off your lap time with the PDK then the regular GT3 is absolutely the car to…
I’m going to counter you. I’m willing to give up control of a lot of systems in the car, that’s fine. but there is so much satisfaction in moving my arm to select a new gear, and feeling it slot into place (even if the car rev matches downshifts for me) that it’s an unacceptable loss on some cars.
When I bought my last 911, I bought it with a ton of spares, for a song. It was undrivable as the engine was out of the car and scattered across many boxes. But I knew just the chassis alone was worth at least what I was paying for it. The guy I bought it from couldn’t believe the number of calls he got on it, from…
the first time was funny, the 2nd time was silly, the 3rd time was stupid, and the more they stuck with it, the more impressive it was that they were totally 100% committed to never doing a celebrity interview again.
I have actually looked into building this for my office. A buddy has a body shop and was repairing an Aventador, the guy opted for a brand new rear bumper despite only minor damage so he has a minorly damaged Aventador rear bumper
This makes me mad:
People are really stupid...trust me!
It would deflect a smaller object, not sure what it would do with a larger object like a tire. And Bianchi would be dead with anything short of a fullly enclosed car. But the Bianchi incident was such a freak accident, and the new VSC is the prevention of that type of accident.
Closed cockpit loses all the heritage of open wheel racing. Also how do you get out of a closed cockpit when the car is upside down and there are no doors....
