I checked all that with the Strain. I guess I relied too heavily on Guillermo’s name attached to it. Also David Bradley being the vampire hunter and Kevin Durand (potentially) being a vampire hunter sounded pretty awesome at the time.

I thought I heard the stories of bluffs being haunted by shipwrecks and the Mohegan. It’s also very foggy and misty there. Pretty nice spooky atmosphere.
There is a haunted dorm down the road a bit from the bird statue that used to be hotel. It’s haunted by a playwright who killed himself because he got bad reviews.
