Gotta watch out for these! I was fidgeting with a drive platter at work awhile back - we dismantle them for destruction, like the article discusses - and the thing exploded in my hand, giving me a few nasty little slices. Only run into the glass on 2.5" drives, and not even all of them.

I was thinking more Andre.

If I'm getting an autograph, I'm buying a high quality hardcover to be signed. I just don't get this (and I'm a Kindle user with literally thousands of ebooks).

It would be a little disappointing, but understandable. Also, I generally shop online because it's my only option - local shopping selection is rather pathetic, and if I have to choose between "evil empires" I'll shop at Amazon over Walmart anyday.

I've only been a DSL & landline customer (no FIOS available) but it was enough to convince me I'll never do Verizon again, even if FIOS comes through. Terrible, terrible service. DirecTV and Comcast have been good to me.

My beef isn't with what he did (I generally support hardware hackers) but his behavior. He acts like a spoiled brat, and I think a lot of people are just tired of hearing from him. I wish he could be this great example of fighting the big corp, but he's not the right person for the job.

I'm with you - we've got the same level of trust here. Considering some of my past relationships, I know how fortunate I am.

No. Violating someone's privacy can't be justified. If he can't trust her, he has the answer he needs.

You stun me with your killer research abilities. ;)

That's exactly why I upgraded. Happy surprise though, I hadn't even realized all my wireless gear was N already, so that got a speed boost too.

Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 for a midrange G router, with Tomato of course.

This rover is much more massive than previous ones. Good info on the Wiki page. Basically ..

Awesome, glad you like it. I love Subsonic - tunes at work, stream to my phone. I use the playlists and "Download to phone" option in the Android client to maintain my on-phone collection too.

Ouch :\

This is handy. For me its all about my network drives. I have 2 TB of network storage on my home network, and it really belongs in my libraries and indexed. About to remote to my house just to try this out. Thanks!

Hell yeah. I'm living with shitty EDGE coverage. There is one spot now - used to be a dead spot, now I connect to a 3G tower that has no network access. WTF? I got excited that maybe they were turning on 3G soon, but that was months ago. I've only got a couple years left before I move somewhere more urban, I doubt

You set that up for me, right? ;) Like a perscription drug commercial, perfect segue to — Try Subsonic. Assuming you have home broadband and an always on PC.

I haven't watched the video. Did he definitely tackle the wave in deep water? Depending on how far out he made it before the tsunami hit, it may have built up some height.

Now playing

Yep. There are hundreds of things more likely to kill you in American rainwater before Japanese radiation could possibly do the trick.
