Jason: you’ve always been a stellar dude on this site, writing the most absurd nonsense, and your passion for everything has always been apparent. Your writing constantly kept me coming back for years. I hope all the best for you on future travels.

I thought “Irony” was Bender’s sister?

Imagine their dismay now that they realize they might be asked to use it against members of their hillbilly base.

I for one am pleasantly-surprised with the fantastic restraint showed by our police forces. We all know that in most “other circumstances”, ramming or assaulting a police officer would result in a deadly fusillade of bullets. I sure am glad that our police are calm and consistent in applying force to maintain the rule

Just want to clarify that the Critical Infrastructure Defence Act isn’t best described as a “Canadian law”, because it’s a provincial (Alberta) law. The fun part is that the very conservative provincial government pretty clearly enacted it to be used against Indigenous and other “leftist” protestors that they didn’t

For what it’s worth, Oilberta has always been like that.

When Canada starts looking like the United States, western civilization is over.

Honestly, go back and give it a shot again.

Unfortunately the CEO of Raytheon says otherwise

Oh, we do have the bridges inspected. They’re usually flagged as dangerous and then just nothing happens.

It was the Jewish Space Laser!

There’s literally only one indestructible bike — mid grade and up bmx bike. I rode literally 10's of thousands of miles in the late 80's, 90's and 00's and was very, very lucky in the injuries department. Lots of racing, group rides, mountain biking, and long “tours”.

Interesting, when I was riding bikes as a kid, the bikes proved more durable than my bones. (mid 2000s)

Best of luck David! May your bolts break loose and your electrical issues not be difficult.

I’ve sold twice and it’s been smooth as hell. They pay 10-15% over competitors.

I’ve been amateur roasting for 20 years. I have to give SB credit, though, for awesome marketing. They took a flaw - over-roasting done to cover up inferior beans purchased when they got too big to source good beans - and sold it as “bold.”

American business is wise to not have faith in its consumers to understand things like “heavier = worse”, it’s the same nation that failed to understand that the 1/3rd-pound burger weighs more than the 1/4-pounder because the American public thought “three is less than four so 1/3 is smaller than 1/4” and that was 40

If your gut reaction to this is to get defensive (like many people in the twitter replies) then it might be time to start examining your personal bias.

Starbucks is disgusting. Tastes like someone brewed bitter tree bark and then threw ashes in it. No thanks.

The pay it forward thing has always been the dumbest thing imaginable. It’s performative charity for people who don’t need it. Want to feel good? Donate time or money to an actual cause. Or, as this article wisely suggests, tip the workers.
