@Wescat: It supposedly effects 3G moreso than edge. Give it a try when you are in a different location.

@iAndroid: It's not just a drop in signal though. For some people it is a complete signal and data transfer loss. That is a bit more severe then natural signal attenuation.

@5erge: I don't have anything pertinent to add, I just like your logo.

@FriarNurgle: I never realized that holding your phone was creating "less than optimal situations". That is an excuse and not an actual reason for suffering performance.

@burlow: Twice as useful overall but nowhere near as competent as an eReader. The screen difference in and of itself is enough for me (and many others). That being said, that would only be the case for a DX at a $250 or less pricepoint. For $379 it is still sorely overpriced.

@phiyuku: Humerous, that diagram is exactly my response to someone else in an iPhone4 post on Giz I made earlier in the day. Maybe I should have a PhD too? :)

@bigtimes: Should of said, its just speculation.

@ITLawMan: You said you tested it on three other iPhone4's (so I take it 4 total) without seeing the signal drop off?

@timmmyt101: Apparently he doesn't care if it actually works as a phone or not...despite being called an iPhone.

@ConstableOdo1: To me, it is more of the fact that Apple refuses to admit to their faulty product and QC error. Some people are ok with living with the problem and that is life.

@mrchomicz: That was a pretty common theory when the issue first appeared....however, with the much more conclusive data testing (as seen above) this seems to no longer be the case.

@paintedangel: What is your proximity to an ATT tower, do you know? For some people, it appears that if you are really close to a tower you don't experience this issue.

@bigtimes: It seems to me that there was always an issue with the signal strength on the iPhone and its attenuation due to hand placement.
