It's not investing, and maybe people would be more cautious when they get over that little bit of semantics. You're donating money to a project; other than the good feeling of helping to accomplish something, you don't get anything except whatever perks you MIGHT get.

try it in real life.

Okay this is a really stupid 101 type question but... I'm gonna need a receiver for that 5.1 system, right? Right now all my peripherals (PS3, PC, Wii) are connected directly to the HDTV via HDMI (and component). If I absolutely need to get an A/V receiver, can anyone recommend one of a similar price range as that 5.1

Content creator revenue can vary drastically from month to month, and since there's no guarantee he can keep making that money for more than a few years (which would also swing around drastically), it's kind of disingenuous to say "he makes 10 million dollars a year."

If anyone ever needs a recipient for their altruistic act, I can send my paypal address.

There's like, no way to pay 4/month for 200 gb, is there? Cause at 200gb I can pretty much bank all my project files online, but 100 is too small (and 1TB is overkill right now).

You mean he should start blogging?

This seems more a case of FPS's not being able to adequately simulate peripheral senses. The FOV in most games is still way smaller than many people in real life (especially the overpowered heroes in an action game), and the sound is not nearly 360 enough for you to properly hear and discern footsteps slowly coming

I actually heard it's a good defense if you ever find yourself in such a terrible situation. Sharks don't often come across pray that can punch (just wriggle around or bite) so it shocks them and I think if you punch them in the nose it messes their senses up, as though you poked them in the eye.

can you clarify how this works... is it basically that you watch the ads, and they give you an amazon rental credit?

No, the best way to get discounts on a cruise is to be the CEO of a cruise line.

It's even better as part of X-Wing Collectors' Series, which has it, X-Wing, and a mini version of X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, upgraded with XvT's engine.

No printer is best. I'd've gotten a cheapo laser printer now for the rare times I need to print something out, but I literally found a working color inkjet/scanner on the curb. I bought cartridges for it and I'll just use that until the ink runs out.

Amazon Video on a PC is a fool's errand since you can't play movies in HD on PC. I'd rather play it on my tablet.

Sounds like a lot of commenters on here also believe in abstinence before marriage.

Or write fan fiction, wherein they can make people they don't know get engaged to other people they don't know.

your sentiments seem to contradict each other, unless the only thing you're really saying is "don't get in debt to begin with." which, hey, I agree, I've been debt free for 3 years now (positive net worth for 4) and I don't plan on buying a house for another 2 or 3 years, but let's be realistic here that most people

We canceled our cable about a month ago, keeping only the internet, and luckily connecting the cable into our TV still gets us free HD broadcast channels (the same channels we'd be getting OTA, except OTA sucks here in LA). The last time we canceled our cable we were only getting SD channels.

Did you already have insurance or did you not? I have just-okay insurance (I'm under 30 and relatively healthy), so my deductibles are still pretty high. Will they negotiate on my out-of-pocket costs if I'm already paying based on the insurance's negotiated rate?
