I wouldn’t say Yellowstone is mediocre. Mediocre shows like Blue Bloods are boring and it’s not boring. It’s pretty awful but it’s a fascinating kind of awful.

I love to hatewatch Yellowstone almost as much as or possibly more than I love to hatewatch Dexter. It’s so terrible and great, it’s like drilling right into Kevin Costner’s skull and all these stupid notions about the Old West and Being A Real Man pour out.
She also the youngest (as far as I can tell) so she’s most recently out of school and pretty likely went to a liberal-leaning college, I think she could have been genuine about being more liberal/progressive in her 20s because of her peers and environment but that eroded when she was out in the world.
I can only speak for myself but the presence of Adrien Brody drops anything a full letter grade.
I don’t know, I’d hate to live on an island where you could get lost on the shortcut trail that sometimes takes longer and it might take the guys with the carts 10 minutes to find you.
I think Shiv is being true to character. She’s been extremely entitled and self centered since episode one. I think a lot of us latched on to her in the beginning because she was the outsider and claimed to be progressive but that was never a true belief any more than it’s Kendall’s now.
Small Town Dexter is almost Joe Pera-like. Of course I say that because I watched them back to back but still.
The 90s have been tapped... They’re just not nearly as cool and don’t feel like an entirely different era like the 80s. A 90s setting isn’t as memorable and sometimes just seems like backwards modern neighborhood.
I think these remakes are more about “what do we already own the rights to and can make on the ultra-cheap” than trying to appeal to a Head of the Class fan community or anything. Though the name recognition does help get the show noticed.
Avengers also included superheroes that were already well known and who had fun and very human personalities. The Eternals aren’t well known individuals, none are really singularly compelling and there doesn’t seem to be a sense of humor in the bunch.
Gunn and Taika are not on the same level of prestige or, imo, artistic power as Zhao.
It sets a very bad precedent to start revoking lifetime passes but I don’t see any way I can let Emilio keep his for “Repo Man.”
I mean... Maybe he didn’t watch it but he did star in the thing, he knows what happened.
They’d both been on the same AOL bible study chat room for about three years when one casually mentioned the name of their pastor and the other recognized them as heading a church the next county over. They agreed to meet a few times at various Starbucks in moderately upscale shopping centers, discovered they had…
I haven’t watched that season since it aired so forgive me if I misremember some details but IIRC the season was chugging along well when Lithgow was the perfect family man who was also a serial killer which created genuine stakes and a challenge for Dexter’s morality... Then they totally and completely copped out and…
I don’t disagree but I think more and more actors and crew are going to refuse to be around real guns if they have any say in the matter. You can run the numbers about safety but we should all know by now that emotion overrules numbers and reason ever time.
This isn’t a show that got cancelled halfway through the story with no sense of closure. I can’t watch those either if I know that’s going to happen. Sopranos has a very definitive and very final ending it’s just artfully handled.
Ketchup has been my favorite condiment since I was a kid, which probably speaks to the fact that people negatively associate it as a childish dipping sauce.
Most of his customers are wealthy but trashy nouveau-riche assholes, minor celebrities burning through their moment of fame and ultra-shady business types who don’t care if he’s exploiting his staff. If anything that probably appeals to them.
