You’re totally right - the modifier was added last-minute and was thoughtless. Have edited to be more accurate; thank you!

I will continue to hope it's backwards Middle English, just to keep the show's greatest historical moment alive.

Oof, I really hope that's a non-starter; they're definitely hitting the condemned-found-family beats pretty hard (she's the demon-possessed surrogate wifedaughter Gotham deserves), and I love the messed-up quagmire they're living in now, but having had the actors actually make out, demon visage or not, I feel like Read more

This is hilariously and totally accurate; I already knew bugs would be coming out of that wall and may have been watching literally through my fingers at both those scenes, but if it was up front to start with, then her desperation gets a different flavor altogether!

Thank you! And yes, I agree that their occasional "Oh, you're just - okay I guess we're doing that now" speed bumps were because they were fitting in so many character beats, which I'd rather have.

I feel like they try to save the budget for computer effects, latex beasties, and Ichabod's replacement coats, and take advantage of the North Carolina scenery whenever they can. (And thank you!)

I am still unclear about Purgatory as it operates in this universe - if Washington was confident that's where he would go, is it some kind of holding room where all souls wait? In that case, were Andy and Corbin's souls actually there? Because I would actually be completely into an episode of the three of them busting Read more

The finale suggests we get a welcome swing back to the Abbie side of the pendulum next week, and I'm hoping that means we don't have to deal with Jeremy until Abbie's been front and center for an episode or two.

Right?! They have an entire room of shockingly useful supernatural tomes, and knew they were heading for a house where strange things happened. How hard would it have been to do a little otherworldly prep?

I knew where he came from once he was mentioned, but bringing him in in the same episode as his reveal robs it of a lot of its power. Where has he been in the flashbacks until now? How are we retconning Katrina to fit this new backstory? If they want us to buy a terrible rivalry, they need to lay groundwork for more Read more

I don't want to say that it completely passed me by because family members have been leaving me extremely similar voice mail for years and I thought nothing of it, but uh, that's what happened. Nobody tell my folks.

He DID look very shifty! There's nothing in particular I can remember as a red flag about him, but at this point I'm assuming that at least 40% of the town's remaining inhabitants are in the employ of Moloch and being project managed by one of the four Horsemen.

Thank you for the kind words! It really can be a delightful hour every week, particularly because it's in on its own joke; I'm so glad you're enjoying the show (and the recaps!).

I laughed when I realized what they were doing. What cadre of crafty cohorts was putting that little silver-lined display together while the Horseman was biding his time underground waiting for the cover of dark?

Actually, they were signed up for a 13-episode season; they recently got picked up for a second season, but so far it sounds as though it will be considered separate rather than a continuation. Read more

I'd buy, at this point, that their dynamic isn't romantic. But it's certainly intense, and having them be so mutually concerned about each other when the show's trying to make fetch happen with Katrina is what has me a little confused. The show doesn't INTEND them to be romantic so soon, perhaps, but there's an Read more

Well, Purgatory is a wonderful theological catch-all for everything from the souls of the not-quite-dead to the inhabitants of certain airline flights, so even if Katrina's Dead, I expect they'll find a way to fix that. What they can't fix is having wasted her for five episodes; that's a lot of ground to make up on Read more

Abbie snubbing that little girl's flower was so amazing that even when I thought it might be relevant to the plot, I went back and watched it twice just for her face. When I realized there was no flower cure and she had just been offhandedly 100% right not to get involved in this nonsense, I CACKLED.

I agree, though there seems to be an emerging pattern of calling her "Miss Mills" in 'private life' and "Lieutenant" when they're on the job or in front of others? I'd have to go back and check to be sure, but he certainly has a weekly quota of shouting "Leftentaaaaaaant!", so it's there.
