I´m hoping manual advance, no synchros and none of that pansy electric starter bullcrap either.

Having to explain that no, not every car I own actually runs.

Nice!

Budget is 30k, I’d say go well under budget and spend the rest in fuel. The car I’d most like to see in Europe would be one of these:

What car is that from? All the tow hooks I’ve come across have had reverse threads (I figured after spending a couple of minutes looking like an idiot).

I got it, just pointed out the unlikely combination of circumstances that are needed for something like this to not be an incredibly stupid idea.

Farms, beaches, private driveways. It’d get annoying as hell to have to buckle up just to move a car a few yards.

There is a very, very limited amount of circumstances where this would actually make sense. I remember a few years ago a friend’s dad had a farm that was about one square mile; the house was on one end and on the other there was a dam we’d drive to to do kayaking and have a few beers.

I always use my seatbelt when driving in the street, I even installed three point seatbelts in an old car that didn’t come with them. However, when I’m driving in the farm it gets super annoying to have the car beeping all the time, especially since I’m driving 100 yards, at low speeds, on private property, open gate,

Not my mom’s Forester, it beeps all the time. I asked at the dealer to disable it but they didn’t know how. Gets really annoying on the farm where you need to get out of the car to open and close gates all the time.

Yeah my local mall’s parking lot is always littered with those.

Ferrari’s answer to all the Fieros made to look like Ferraris

8 year old me loved the Testarossa preciesly because of the side strakes. Nowadays what I think about is how hard it probably is to clean them but still gives the car an original look unlike anything else.

That’s the same oil I always use! Hasn’t turned my car into an Aston though.

This always gets me on rental cars

While I’d definitely love to be ubered in an S-class, or even to own one, it doesn’t strike me as a very interesting car.

I’ll give you a clue, however expensive, this car will probably be paid for in cash. One or two suitcases of 20s and 100s, and might actually be used in farms and places where there are no roads.

Or, you know, drive more interesting cars that won’t be confused for an Uber.

So, a few years ago even before Uber was a thing I went to pick up some friends at a club.

Not impossible but it doesn’t seem like it, the bonnet/hood/front looks very good and is really expensive so someone doing a rebody would have probably kept it.
