@TildenAeneas: Well, I did point out that the earlier SyFy Riverworld also invented a contemporary American protagonist instead of using Burton, and Wolfe had nothing to do with that version. It doesn't seem at all, however, like SyFy "revised [this script] without his involvement" or without his approval; he says

@Robert Hewitt Wolfe: I believe I quoted the SciFiWire interview accurately, but if I didn't, I'll be happy to correct the error. I also believe my tone of apprehension was a lot gentler than the outright vitriol to which you're being subjected in the comments section over at SciFiWire. I didn't invent that rising

@DeepFriar: Is it weird to say he has too much personality? Usually, I like that in a character, but my optimal Optimus would be a lot more somber, and, well, robotic.
