Agreed. 21 year old MkIV Golf, used gear box, new clutch and Bentley manual as reference. Been working form home for 21 months, so this is just fun as only driving a slow car fast can be.

Had the vehicle been left there it may have become a macabre sight. I praise the rescuers.

I do wonder from where he got his degree.

A tank would be gallons per mile. You woudn’t want to be behind one in traffic and don’t even ask about the cost of tracks when it comes time to replace them. Just move out of the way on account the driver may not see you and don’t expect it to stop even in an emergency.

The last time I saw a 6' breaker bar was while changing roadwheels on an M1 tank. That must have been a sight!
Set to the correct torque, I have no issues loosening either of my VWs lug nuts with a 24" hinged craftsman ratchet.

Why didn’t you stop the “technicians” the moment they raised the car with the lug nuts still tight? That is proof that they are not paying attention and you can change your mind. Your really don’t need to see any more to know that this will not end well and your vehicle is at risk. (This reminds me of the Audi S4

Please learn to drive a manual. You will have a bunch more to write about and will not be tempted to text while driving.

Grip feel asie, that is one ugly steering wheel. Why such a giant hub?

Ahem... that was for FIATS. My first car was an x1/9 that actually never left me stranded.

How is this different than a decontented Rav4 for the “car = appliance” crowd? I fail to see the point, but I understand that for some a Rav4 is just too much in some respect. (In HS had a friend who corrected me whenever I called his Mercury Lynx an Escort.  Please don’t tell me it is the same all over again.)

If that is your recollection of a rental car, you are lucky. My recent experience involving Budget gave me a choice of upgrades all of which turned out to have been smoked in. I considered declining the upgrade in hopes of getting a smoke free ride, but no luck. More obnoxious than the wretched stench is

Sad. I presume that she did her own research and determined that the Navy standards were meaningless. (Sort of like Aaron Rodgers with Covid. Why bother with science?) It still is fraud. Though the Navy (or contractor for the Navy) should have tested the steel they were getting and there is no excuse for that.

Just yesterday, at light I was behind a ’07-12 Boxster with temporary plates and the top down. They guy must have been new to the third pedal on account when the light turned green there was tremendous revving and the foul stench of a burned clutch before he pulled away from the light. Clearly, he must have been

Yup. Got it done during my lunch hour.

In California it took me an hour from start to finish to get my Enhanced/ Real ID. You just can’t complain about that.

Diesel nuts know about the Cruz. Glad to hear it.

Awesome car. If they only made a manual version for the US, I would have one.  I had to settle for a Sportwagen TDI with DSG.

In that same way that low facilities tend to have overhanging warning bars to alert drivers before impact, there should be a bump or rumble strip to warn drivers before impact. Wake driver’s up to be more aware and have a chance to correct. Doesn’t seem that difficult to implement.

Most worthwhile places in San Diego are not accessible by such a vehicle. Though it is perfect for the “Campland” experience.

Come on...There has got to be a Swiss U-boat joke in there somewhere!
