Don’t these things have a tubular metal frame known for rusting? I would run away....

Perhaps not. However, it is nice to keep the back from coming around!

My first car, a ‘79 Fiat X1/9. Totally inappropriate, but is was reliable for 80K miles. I would thirty years later, I would love it back just because you don’t see them on the roads anymore. May have to go Miata or GTI, while manuals are still possible to afford.

Agreed, it is insane. The US medical device market is rife with fraud and it is essentially a broken when compared to how open markets should work. You are just citing one glimpse into it. There is much more. For instance, I wonder what it would do to Florida’s economy if the Feds were able to totally stop it. How

Agreed, but a minor clarification - Can we please qualify that as “real” insurance on their own. There has been far too much made of people loosing their flimsy faux “insurance” plans due to Obamacare.

I would still like to have a Unimog - just one, that is all I need. Please?

The lead photo with the red 318ti brought back many memories of a simple 4 cylinder with 5 speed and rear wheel drive that was a blast to drive. Actually, I am glad it is not coming stateside.

That is soo rare in Cal. You just don’t see those for sale.

Thanks for the High School drivers’ ed vehicle flashback! That is just too scary to be seen on any public road. Best hidden away in a garage by a well meaning BAT follower.

I do wonder how much VW is paying for consultants to come up with these names. Else, the VW interns are playing too much scrabble.

Bravo! I was just thinking that most of those folks in attendance have kids and parents, do doubt some with compromised health. The reverberations from this rally will continue for a while.

As I said before, the fix is to have a titanium mtb frame. No rust issues and you can get them for a song. Especially those that are compatible with 26" wheels.

Please don’t forget the satisfaction of a well executed down-shift. That is satisfaction that an automatic can’t provide.

Until you have to scrap the vehicle due to a transmission issue. A friend just scraped his Jeep Compass for the very reason. Consider my 2001 VW Golf. I just replaced the clutch for the first time at 167K miles.  Very happy to row them gears.

Agreed. Even on the 405, it is the original in-car entertainment system.

Please don’t give any ideas to fraudsters that would have failed the marshmallow test. We don’t need them to play the long game.

mdensch,

By all means - please do buy that Chris King headset and then please buy a bike that is worthy of it. Here is my Chris King headset wearing a DEAN DUKE with Industry 9 wheels and hubs. Don’t waste your time with the POS bike that was never good even when it was new. (Back then I was drooling after a Cannondale or a

I am sure that Dave Ramsey is much more knowledgeable about financial matters than the average person. Though let us not forget that Dave Ramsey has a product to sell; an audience to deliver to his advertisers. I would not take his opinion express on the show as any advice. Each person’s financial situation is

Point well made. Assuming that the car is your daily driver, a vehicle is a sunk cost. Take care of it, use it without undue abuse, and it will last. If it doesn’t meet your needs, then sell it or pass it on. Unless you are driving a 911SC, (etc.) it will not appreciate.
